Pour Some Sugar on Me

sugarland-002.jpg

Friday night Casey and I went out for our last big HURRAH: we drove a couple hours south to see Sugarland in concert!   It’s our third time to see them live, and we decided that this might make us groupies.   The concert was awesome.   It was a smaller venue (maybe 8,000 seats?), outdoors on a steamy night and it was perfect.   Jennifer Nettles rocks!   I danced like a fool (I think there was more than one person near us who was afraid I was going to go into labor right there), but I can’t express how fantastic it felt to just let loose and sing and dance!   For two hours I forgot that I was tired and swollen and I was just able to enjoy the music and the night.

It’s funny, too, because this concert was the “benchmark” I set for myself as far as having the baby early – I knew that once I got to get my Sugarland fix, I could go into labor.

Funnier, even, that all day and night Saturday, I had NOT ONE SINGLE contraction (braxton hicks or otherwise), cramp or twinge.   It was like I was back in month 6, just happy flutters in the belly and no real discomfort.   It actually worried me a little, as I’ve gotten to used to barely surviving through the evening with the erratic and constant contractions and cramps.   They came back again today, but are still lighter than they were the past week.   Hmm… maybe concert going is the cure for the Month Nine Blues…

    Hello!
It sounds like you had a great time at the concert! You look so happy and fantastic for being as pregnant as we are! I’m on the official c-section countdown (19 days) and although it sounds strange; I’m looking forward to the downtime in the hospital. 🙂

Quick question for you and any others who read this. I’m planning on breastfeeding again although not as long as the other three (5+ months) and I’m debating on using a bassinet or a moses basket. The bassinet takes up so much room and is convenient but it becomes a catch-all. I know the moses basket is smaller and we won’t use it as long but I like the portability of it. Anyone have suggestions or a brand of moses baskets they’ve used? Thanks and keep us posted Kristjana.

  2. You guys look like you are having a great time. I’m so glad that you got to go to the concert – and that you were comfortable and able to enjoy it! I remember passing on a Third Day concert when I was pregnant with Princess. Now I wish I would have gone!!!

Keep us posted! Whenever there is a lag in your posts, I think that you’ve gone into labor!!!

I know why you had an “easy” day -The baby either loved the concert and dancing and was floating in a dream-like state, or else was afraid to make a move, scared that you would blast music and shake him/her up and down again.:) Be sure and put this picture in Bean’s baby book. Love, Aunt Syl

  4. Sounds like you had a great time. All expecting mothers need one last HURRAH(as you put it), because the middle night feedings can be tiresome. I have had 3 babies & they still don’t sleep that well at 3, 5 & 7.
